Bangladesh U-18 Boys’ Kabaddi team made history at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain by winning a bronze medal-their first-ever in this tournament.
With this success, Bangladesh secured its second medal overall at the Games, following the U-18 Girls’ Kabaddi team’s earlier bronze victory against Sri Lanka.
In their final match at the Isa Sports City, Bangladesh delivered a stunning performance, crushing hosts Bahrain by 106-17 points to claim third place among the seven participating teams.
The journey was not easy for the boys in red and green. After losing their opening match to powerhouse India, they bounced back with an impressive win over Iran and followed it with another victory against Sri Lanka. However, a narrow loss to Thailand dashed their hopes of reaching the final. Despite that setback, Bangladesh finished strong, defeating Pakistan and Bahrain in their remaining matches.
This achievement marks Bangladesh’s best-ever performance in the Asian Youth Games, winning two bronze medals through Kabaddi, a proud moment for the nation.
