Rangpur Riders Director and Bashundhara Strikers captain Shezaad Akbar Sobhan expressed strong optimism ahead of both the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season and the Frost Blast T20 Tournament, emphasising confidence, preparation, and ambition.
Reflecting on his vision for Rangpur Riders, Shezaad said the team will approach the new BPL season with belief and hunger for success.
“The plan for the BPL is that we are going to go with confidence. We are the Rangpur Riders, and we are gonna go with the big smell, and we are aiming high for the trophy,” he said.
Before leading Bashundhara Strikers in their opening match of the Frost Blast T20 against Team Architects, Shezaad shared his excitement about the team’s readiness and morale. Having undergone a week of intensive training and several intra-squad matches, the Strikers enter the tournament in high spirits.
“We are going into the field with a lot of confidence. We have done a lot of training this week. On rest days, we played some matches on our own. So we are really confident to play, and all of us are motivated, and we are not afraid,” he added.
The second edition of the Frost Blast T20 begins today (17 October) at the Bashundhara Sports City Cricket Ground, a venue that holds special significance for Shezaad. To him, it’s more than just a home ground — it’s a space that embodies both comfort and joy.
