Midfielder Md Ridoy, who has been training closely with Hamza Choudhury for the past two sessions, expressed that they are learning from Hamza every moment.
“Hamza Bhai is a high-quality footballer; he plays at the top level. We always ask him what to do and how to improve, and he always gives us positive feedback,” said the midfielder during their second-day session on the astroturf of the Shillong Sports Association Stadium on Saturday (March 22).
When asked about the difference between Hamza and other players, Ridoy said, “If I rate him, I would give him 100 out of 100. There is a huge difference between his level and ours. We are learning from him every moment.”
“He is a simple man. We are enjoying the experience,” he added.
The Bangladesh national football team arrived in Shillong, the hilly capital of India’s northeastern state of Meghalaya, on Thursday with high hopes and expectations. They resumed their final preparations at the North-Eastern Hill University ground, commonly known as NEHU ground, on Friday.
However, on Saturday, the team switched venues and completed their second training session at a different location. The players, including Hamza, appeared cheerful and excited during the session.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will face the hosts in the first-leg match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers’ final round on March 25 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.
