The Bangladesh under-19 women's cricket team has reached the final of the ongoing Asia Cup, defeating Nepal by nine wickets in a rain-affected match in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday.
The team will face India in the final on Monday, marking the second India-Bangladesh clash in a major tournament final within the span of two weeks.
On December 8, the Bangladesh under-19 lads faced their Indian counterparts in the boys’ edition of Asia Cup final, and beat them to clinch the championship.
Sent in to bat first on Friday, the Nepali girls managed to score 54 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 11 overs, as rain reduced the available match time.
Bangladesh reached the target losing just one wicket in 9.5 overs.
Fahmida Choya was named the Player of the Match for her all-round performance, remaining unbeaten on 26 runs with the bat and taking one wicket for 14 runs.
