For the first time since 2017, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy has returned to the international cricket calendar.
As per tradition, the trophy has been on tour to ICC-member nations before the tournament begins in February next year.
After completing its tours in Pakistan and Afghanistan, the trophy is now in Bangladesh.
Eight teams, including Bangladesh, are slated to participate in next year's ICC Champions Trophy.
While Pakistan was initially designated as the host, the tournament's future remains uncertain as Indian and Pakistani cricket officials engage in negotiations with the ICC to determine the venue and format of the event.
The Bangladesh leg of the Champions Trophy official tour was inaugurated by the Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan at the premises of the government residence of the Youth and Sports Adviser on Tuesday.
The trophy will remain in Bangladesh until December 13.
It was put on display at the Laboni Point beach in Cox’s Bazar from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
The trophy will then be brought back to Dhaka and will be put on public display at the Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Panthapath on Thursday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The following day, the trophy will be put on display at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium for members of the national men's and women's team, current and former cricketers, officials, organisers, and members of the media.
