Bangladesh fell 48 runs short of New Zealand's total of 208 in the fifth match of the Tri-Series in Christchurch on Wednesday.
With the defeat, tigers yet to win a single match from the three matches they played in the Tri-Series, got eliminated from the Series as hosts New Zealand and Pakistan will play the final on Friday at the same venue.
Banglades captain Shakib al Hasan was the only bright side in the tigers batting innings while the allrounder scored 70 from 44 balls but due to lack of supports from other end, Bangladesh finished at 160 for 7 wickets.
Sent to bat first, quick fifties from Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips helped Kiwis to take the total to 208/5 after 20 overs. Opening the batting, Conway scored 64 off 40 balls while Phillips scored 60 from just 24 deliveries to finish things in style.
It was another poor display from Bangladesh bowling unit where almost everyone gave away more than 10 runs per over. Mohammad Saifuddin and Ebadot Hossain took 2 wickets each while Shoriful Islam took one.
This was a must win match for Bangladesh as they are yet to register a single victory in the series.
