Renowned actress Jaya Ahsan, popular both Bangladesh and Kolkata, continues to attract public attention beyond her acting career for her graceful appearance and disciplined approach to health. Her dietary habits, in particular, have long been a subject of curiosity among fans.
In a recent interview with a media outlet, the actress openly shared details about her personal preferences and dietary choices.
She said that for the past three years, she has been trying to gradually adopt a pescatarian lifestyle.
In her words, “I love eating and I do eat. I believe sometimes you need food to satisfy your soul. Many people follow strict diets and eat foreign foods, but I don’t do that.”
However, her food habits are also shaped by a growing emotional and ethical shift. She now feels uncomfortable even eating fish or eggs. She explained, “These days I can’t even eat eggs or fish. I feel like I am killing animals. It is a kind of mental struggle for me.”
She added that this change developed after she became involved in animal rights work. “When I started working on animal rights, this feeling became stronger. Now when I eat chicken, I feel like I am taking food away from street animals like dogs and cats. But I believe everyone, especially women, should take enough protein,” she said.
The actress also shared a light-hearted remark about her shooting set preferences. She said, “If I don’t get singara, green chili, and onion on set, I get irritated. That’s our national shooting food.”
She also mentioned that a daily cup of milk tea made by her mother is essential for her every morning.
Known for her fondness for vegetables and raw foods since childhood, some people jokingly say she eats everything raw. Responding to this, she clarified, “I don’t eat everything raw, but I can eat many things raw.”
