As Eid approaches, entertainment platforms are rolling out special content for audiences. Radio Capital’s YouTube channel Capital Drama is set to release three dramas-“Tomake Chai,” “P.O. Box 144,” and “Aponjonn”, sponsored by Polar Ice Cream.
“Tomake Chai”
Directed by Masrikul Alam, “Tomake Chai” will premiere on Eid day at 7:00 pm. Leading the cast are Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Tanjim Saiara Totini.
According to Capital Drama, this is the only Eid release featuring Apurba this year.The story revolves around Sohel. According to his aunt, he is the most intelligent boy in the world, while his uncle considers him completely useless.
At his aunt’s insistence, Sohel agrees to marry his cousin Rina. Later, Rina reveals that she has loved him since childhood. On the day before the wedding, Sohel realizes that he also loves Rina; however, thinking about the family’s honor, he runs away from home. It is later revealed that Rina also plans to escape in order to stop the marriage.
Apurba shared that the story and characters felt unique to him and expressed hope that audiences will enjoy the drama.
“Aponjonn”
Directed by Jakaria Showkhin, “Aponjonn” will air on the third day of Eid at 7:00 pm. The cast includes Farhan Ahmed Jovan and Naznin Nahar Niha.
This is the only drama directed by Showkin this Eid. The story follows Abid, who was born in the village of Shobujpur, completes his studies up to SSC there. He later studies at Dhaka College for his HSC and then goes on to pursue higher education in Malaysia and Australia. After nearly 10 years, he returns to his village with a dream of establishing an avocado agro farm.
Soon after arriving, he is struck on the head by a cricket ball hit by Lata, and that incident marks the beginning of their acquaintance, which gradually turns into love. However, due to a long-standing feud between their families, they try to distance themselves from the relationship.
The Director said, “The drama will enhance the festive spirit of Eid. Aponjonnis a story meant to be enjoyed with loved ones, where family and romance progress side by side.”
“P.O. Box 144 ”
Directed by Shihab Shaheen, “P.O. Box 144” will also be released during Eid, though the exact date has yet to be announced. The drama stars Tawsif Mahbub and Tanjim Saiara Totini.
The story centers on Anamika and Masud, who fall in love through exchanging letters. At one point, they decide to meet in person, dressed in traditional attire—saree and panjabi, but Anamika backs out after seeing Masud from a distance and not liking him. It is later revealed that the letters Anamika had been sending were actually written by another girl on her behalf. Anamika later tells her that she can continue writing the letters if she wants. As a result, the exchange of letters with Masud continues, but in reality, it is with the girl who had been writing them all along. Eventually, the letters suddenly stop reaching their destination.
The three dramas will offer a blend of romance, emotion, and engaging storytelling, bringing added delight to this year’s Eid festivities.
