With a career spanning over two decades, popular actress Runa Khan has carved a niche for herself by choosing quality over quantity, remaining satisfied with taking on just three to four projects each year.
In a recent interview, she said, “As a person, I am not a harsh critic of anything. Everything in life is relative. I see any new attempt positively. Some people may like it, others may not—that’s natural. We should try to look at everything a little more simply.”
Speaking about her working style, the actress shared that she has followed a specific routine for the past 15 years. Despite spending a long time in the industry, she has no complaints about doing fewer projects.
Runa said, “On average, I don’t work more than five days a month. After getting married in 2009, I took a three-year break for my child. Since then, I have been doing only three to four projects a year.”
Although advancements in information technology have increased the scope for promotion and visibility, she says she remains steady in her position. “Even 10 years ago, I did four to five projects a year, and I’m doing the same now. I’m in the same place. To me, life is about being able to keep moving forward,” she added.
Meanwhile, Runa Khan has portrayed a police officer for the first time in the short film “Roktochaya”. Directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi, the film also stars Aman Reza, Rafah Nanjeba Torsa, Nokshi Tabassum and Affan Mitul, among others. The film has been produced with an eye on the Cannes Film Festival
In addition, Runa Khan will play the lead female role in the same director’s upcoming film "Chalachitra: The Cinema", which will focus on stories from the lives of people in the film industry.
