Renowned actress Jaya Ahsan has unveiled the poster of her upcoming Tollywood film “OCD”. Reuniting after “Bhootpori”, Jaya has once again collaborated with West Bengal filmmaker Soukarya Ghosal. The official poster was released on Thursday, with the actor sharing it on her social media platforms, drawing attention to the film’s intense and unsettling theme.
“OCD” tackles the deeply sensitive and often silenced issue of child sexual abuse. The film is set to release on 6 February 2026. Jaya Ahsan plays Shweta, a doctor burdened by haunting memories and unresolved trauma from her past.
Speaking about the project, Soukarya Ghosal described OCD as a deeply personal protest. He said he has witnessed numerous cases where perpetrators of child abuse remain unidentified and unpunished because victims are too afraid to speak out, fearing disbelief and damage to their credibility.
Reflecting on societal hypocrisy, the director noted that despite projecting a modern outlook, many families still choose to suppress the truth when a child speaks up—driven by fear of social judgment, sexual stigma, and uncomfortable scrutiny.
Highlighting the long-term psychological consequences of such trauma, the filmmaker said the mental violence endured by a child can persist throughout their lifetime, sometimes leading to severe and self-destructive outcomes. In certain cases, suppressed trauma may even manifest as a dangerous desire for revenge, with unpredictable and potentially lethal consequences.
Through “OCD”, Soukarya aims to tell the story from the perspective of a molested child—fearless, unburdened by societal judgment, and unconcerned with notions of plausibility—placing the child’s truth firmly at the center of the narrative.
