National Award-winning singer Dilshad Nahar Kona has emerged as one of the most talked-about artistes of her generation. With soaring popularity and strong audience appeal, she remains at the centre of discussion-particularly following the massive success of the song “Dushtu Kokil.”
The sweet-voiced singer’s professional commitments have multiplied, with her stage show schedule becoming busier than ever. While her personal life has also seen changes, Kona remains calm and confident. She does not believe in rigid planning for the future, choosing instead to move forward naturally. Still, as she steps into 2026, she admits to a noticeable shift in her mindset.
Sharing her New Year message, Kona said, “Happy New Year to everyone at the beginning of 2026. Wherever you are, stay well, stay healthy, and stay with your family. Honestly, I never work according to strict plans because many things happen beyond planning. Whatever work comes my way-be it a new song, TV show, stage performance, playback, or jingle-I try to do it with 100%. From now on, I want to be more positive in everything and strive to be a better human being. That is my conviction.”
Kona won her first National Film Award for playback singing in “Bishsho Premik,” directed by Chayanika Chowdhury.
The song Dushtu Kokil’s popularity triggered an overnight surge in Kona’s stage performances and further elevated her status in the music industry. While she had already delivered numerous hit and superhit songs, “Dushtu Kokil” reshaped her career—marking a new chapter as she enters the New Year with renewed optimism and purpose.
