Following the success of “Utshob”, director Tanim Noor has announced his new film Bonolata Express, based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel “Kichukkhon”.
The cast of the film was officially introduced at a press conference in the capital on Saturday.
The star-studded ensemble includes Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz, Sabila Nur, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Zakia Bari Mamo, Intekhab Dinar and Shamol Mawla.
In “Kichukkhon”, the story follows Chitra, a Dhaka University student who travels by train to Dinajpur to visit her ailing uncle. The narrative unfolds through her experiences during the journey. Tanim Noor plans to bring this story to the screen with new creative elements and surprises.
Speaking about the project, Tanim Noor said, “After Utshob, many suggested I make another family drama. Then I thought of working with a story by Humayun Ahmed. That thought led to the preparation of Bonolata Express based on Kishukkhon.”
The cast expressed their excitement about being part of a film inspired by Humayun Ahmed’s work.
Azmeri Haque Badhon said, “When Tanim Noor described the character, my daughter encouraged me to do it because she wants to see me in a more cheerful role. I love Humayun Ahmed’s work, and after many years, getting the chance to act in a story based on his writing feels very special.”
Mosharraf Karim shared, “I joined the film because I fell in love with the character. I really liked the screenplay and dialogues, and I’m looking forward to working with my longtime co-actors.”
Chanchal Chowdhury said, “From my experience working with Tanim Noor, I believe audiences will enjoy this film. Just as Humayun Ahmed’s story excites viewers, we as actors are equally eager to be part of a meaningful project.”
Mamo remarked, “One of the main reasons for boarding the Bonolata Express is its driver, Tanim Noor. The fellow passengers are equally important, and this cast feels like a wonderful journey together.”
Sabila Nur added, “Our new film Bonolata Express is beginning its journey with some amazing passengers.”
Shooting for the film began in Dhaka on Sunday. The film is scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Fitr next year.
