Director Raihan Khan is currently working on his upcoming film Tribunal, a courtroom drama centered on a case filed under the Women and Children's Repression Act, 2001.
The film, which explores the complex interplay of justice, morality, and political influence, has already completed 75% of its shooting.
The official announcement was made at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday, where the cast and crew were present.
Speaking about the project, Raihan Khan said, "Tribunal is being made in a completely different style. We will soon finish the remaining shooting. If everything goes as planned, we aim to release the film on Eid. However, if post-production requires more time, we won't hesitate to take it."
Nusrat Faria plays the role of a barrister who fights the case on behalf of the accused. Faria, a London graduate, portrays a stylish and intelligent lawyer. The film also stars Mousumi Hamid,Tania Brishty, Saira Akhter Jahan, Ador Azad, Shahed Ali, Milon Bhattacharya, Rakib Hossain, and others.
Mousumi Hamid said, "I agreed to the film after hearing the story. I haven't come across such a narrative before. It's a murder courtroom drama with 26 witnesses and one eye witness. I play the role of the eye witness."
It has been learned that "Tribunal" is based on a true story. With most of the shooting completed, the production team plans to release it on Eid-ul-Fitr after finishing the remaining work and post production.
