Popular actor Abdun Noor Shajal has signed on for a new movie titled "Durbar". Actress Apu Biswas set to star opposite him in the project.
Kamrul Hasan Fuad, the director of the film, has confirmed the news to the media. Durbar marks Fuad's directorial debut.
The film is a murder mystery thriller, featuring Jannatul Noor Moon and Sanju John in two important roles.
Shooting is scheduled to begin on 16 December,while Shajal and Apu will take part in a formal photoshoot on 14 December.
About the film, director Fuad said, "It's a murder mystery thriller with a touch of romance. I've chosen a story that will appeal to both theatre audiences and OTT viewers. Pre-production is underway, and rehearsals are happening simultaneously.If everything goes well, we plan to start filming on 16 December."
Besides Dhaka, the movie will be filmed in Rajshahi and Nepal. The soundtrack will feature three songs, sung by Imran Mahmudul, Kona and Belal Khan.
The director hopes to release the film on Eid-ul-Fitr next year.
Meanwhile, Abdun Noor Shajal has recently completed shooting Rasheda Akhter Lazuk's Shapla Shaluk. Work on the film's songs is still pending, but the team expects to release this film as well during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, if all goes as planned.
