After a long wait, popular band Shironamhin is set to release the sequel to their 2018 hit song 'Ei Obelay'.
Titled ‘Ei Obelay 2’, the track will be the closing song of the band’s latest album Batighor.
The song will be released on Thursday and this time in two languages, Bangla and English.
According to the band, the Bangla version will drop first, followed shortly afterward by the English version titled ‘Remember Me’.
Band leader and bassist Ziaur Rahman, who wrote the original song, has also penned the sequel. Drummer Kazi Ahmed Shafin directed the music video, with the English translation provided by Resh Rahman.
Speaking about the sequel, Shironamhin frontman Zia said, “After the first song was released, we received an overwhelming response from listeners. Many wanted a sequel. The same thing happened with our debut album’s song ‘Hahimukh’. Seeing such anticipation around Ei Obelay, we felt compelled to create a follow-up.”
Notably, over the past decade, Ei Obelay has become one of the most beloved songs not just of Shironamhin but among all Bangladeshi band tracks.
On the band’s official YouTube channel alone, the song has nearly 70 million views. Its immense popularity led fans to repeatedly ask for a sequel and now, at last, that wish is coming true today.
Shironamhin confirmed that both versions will be released simultaneously on their official YouTube channel.
