Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Mim has acted in both the Dhaka and Kolkata film industries. Currently, she has fewer film projects, but her schedule is still quite busy.
Today is November 10, Mim's birthday. As usual, she will celebrate the day in a cozy, homey environment. The actress spoke with ‘Kaler Kantho’ about her birthday and her current work schedule. The conversation was conducted by Kamrul Islam.
Mim is a home-loving person. She always spends her birthday at home, with her family. This year is no exception. She doesn't make any special plans for her birthday on her own.
Mim says, "I don't have any special plans for my birthday. I usually spend it at home with my family. They might organize something, but I don't like big celebrations—I'm happy with a small family gathering."
Mim, born on November 10, 1992, in Rajshahi, hasn't visited her ancestral home much lately. She shares, "The last time I went was two years ago. I miss my village, but since my grandparents passed, it's harder to visit due to work. However, my uncle, aunt, and other relatives come to Dhaka, so I do get to see them."
Mim entered showbiz in 2007 as the winner of ‘Lux-Channel I Superstar.’ Looking back, she fondly recalls her colorful childhood but narrates, "I don’t think much about the future. What's important is being happy in the present. No one knows what’s ahead, and I prefer to focus on now."
Mim appears in front of the camera in all kinds of looks, from glamorous wedding styles to bold and glamorous ones. She always receives love from her fans. But what brings Mim peace? She answers, "I prefer to keep things simple. I don't really enjoy dressing up that much."
Recently, Mim did a photoshoot in bridal attire for a salon. She has been seen in bridal looks many times before. When this topic was brought up, Mim says, "I’ve probably dressed as a bride more than anyone in Bangladesh. Salons always pick me for bridal photoshoots, and it feels like a competition to see how many different bridal looks they can come up with. I’ve tried nearly every style!"
Mim's last film appearance was in December 2023 in ‘Manush’, directed by Bangladesh's Sanjay Somadder, starring Jeet. Since then, she has been involved in several projects, but none have shown significant progress. Suman Dhar’s ‘Ami Yasmin Bolchi’ faced delays due to administrative issues, but after the new government took over, filming was supposed to begin. A month and a half later, there’s still no update. Mim also worked on Wahid Tarek’s ‘Digante Phuler Agun’, but when asked about it, she said, "I don’t know much. The last update I got was that editing is still in progress."
