As part of its first program since its establishment, the newly formed National Citizens Party (NCP) paid tribute to the Liberation War martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar. Through this initiative, the NCP has officially commenced its political journey.
The party leaders and activists honored the martyrs at the National Memorial at around 8 am on Tuesday (March 4).
Later at 10 am, they are scheduled to participate in a prayer gathering at the Rayerbazar Martyrs' Memorial to honor the martyrs of the 2024 Uprising.
Following this, at 3 pm, an executive committee introduction meeting will be held at the party’s central office.
All programs are expected to be attended by NCP Convener Md. Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and central committee members.
The National Citizens Party officially launched as a new political party on February 28 with a massive rally at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. Subsequently, a partial convening committee of 217 members was approved.
Several NCP leaders have said that the party aims to expand its organisational reach with a focus on four key priorities.
