The interim government has sent four deputy inspector generals (DIGs) of police into forced retirement in its latest attempt to overhaul the administrative sector, reports the Daily Sun.
Home ministry Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani has signed separate notifications in this regard.
The DIGs would enjoy retirement benefits as per provisions, the notification read.
The targeted police officers are Anti-Terrorism Unit DIG Md Nisharul Arif, River Police DIG Md Abdul Quddus Amin, Highway Police DIG Md Azad Mia, and Amena Begum.
