The undergraduate admission test of Jahangirnagar University (JU) for the 2024-25 academic session will begin on Sunday, with 145 candidates competing for each seat.
A total of 262,450 candidates have registered online to contest for 1,814 seats, said Syed Mohammed Ali Reza, JU Deputy Registrar (Academic) and Member Secretary of the Admission Test Managing Committee.
The entry test will begin with the ‘D’ unit (Faculty of Biological Sciences), where female candidates will take the test in five shifts. Male candidates will sit for the same exam on February 10 across four shifts, followed by the IBA-JU admission test in the fifth shift, open to both male and female applicants.
The schedule continues with the ‘E’ unit (Business Studies Faculty) and the ‘A’ unit (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Institute of Information Technology) on February 11, with female candidates sitting for the ‘A’ unit exam that day and male candidates on February 12.
On February 13, exams for the ‘C’ unit—covering the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Law, and the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture—will begin, conducted in six shifts for male and female students separately.
The admission tests will conclude on February 17 with the ‘C1’ unit exam for Drama and Theatre Studies and Fine Arts, followed by the ‘B’ unit exam for the Faculty of Sociology.
Candidates shortlisted for practical tests in Drama and Theatre Studies and Fine Arts will need to attend additional assessments later this month, with dates to be announced in an official notice.
The results of the admission test will be published within seven days of the tests, accessible via the official admission website.
