BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said many advisors of the interim government cannot tolerate criticism.
He said, "We have to ensure free and fair elections, independence of the judiciary and rule of law. No matter what political movement or protest there is in this country, the use of police bullets to suppress it must be banned forever. From now on, no barbaric rule or barbaric law can be established."
He said this at an event in the capital on Monday.
Rizvi said, "Many advisors get angry when criticized. In a democracy, the opposition will criticize, and through this, the government will be reformed. If you cannot accept criticism, resign and form a political party."
Claiming that ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being provoked from abroad, he said, "Sheikh Hasina is desperate to regain her barbaric rule again. Taking refuge in a neighboring country, he is instructing leaders and activists to carry out various conspiracies and provocative acts. Now, without receiving a response from the people, the Awami League is blocking the strike online.”
“Such reforms must be made so that no government can suppress the people by showing bloodshed,” he added.
