Former Minister of Public Administration Farhad Hossain is set to be presented before the Meherpur Sadar Judicial Magistrate Court today (January 30).
According to police, Farhad Hossain faces a total of eight cases, including charges related to the anti-discrimination act and the high-profile murder of Jamaat leader Tariq.
On Wednesday night, he was transferred under strict security from Dhaka to Meherpur jail. District police have heightened security measures, increasing patrols around the jail and court premises.
Farhad Hossain, a former lawmaker from Meherpur-1, was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on September 14 last year in Dhaka’s Eskaton area.
