Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) on Wednesday said the government will soon uncover the motive behind the seven murders on the MV Al Bakhera ship in Chandpur.
He made the remark in response to questions from journalists while visiting Christmas celebrations at St. Mary's Cathedral Church in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Wednesday night, reports BSS.
Jahangir Alam said one person has been arrested in connection with the Chandpur murder case.
The mobile phones of those killed have been recovered from the arrestee, he said, adding that the arrestee has confessed to involvement in the incident.
The home adviser said all those involved in the murders will be brought to justice.
He also mentioned that another person, who fell ill during the ship incident, is receiving the best treatment.
