Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, called for collective action in building a just and humane society, free from discrimination, based on the principles of the Quran and Sunnah. Speaking at a rally on Friday evening at the Laksam Bypass on the Cumilla-Noakhali highway, he emphasized the need for national unity in creating a brighter future for Bangladesh.
"We seek the cooperation of all citizens to build a society founded on justice and unity. Our love and commitment will be devoted to the pleasure of Allah," Rahman stated. He also highlighted the legacy of former central leaders of Jamaat, who remained resolute in their principles, refusing to compromise with injustice. "They embraced death with a smile, standing firm in their faith."
The Jamaat leader stressed that there would be "no compromise or surrender to injustice." He added, "Wherever there is injustice, we will stand and protest."
The rally, held on the way to Laxmipur, also featured speeches from key figures such as Prof. Dr. AKM Syed Sarwar Uddin Siddiqui, Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Shah Alam Monir, and Advocate Badiul Alam Sujan. Jamaat leaders raised their voices for the release of ATM Azharul Islam, an imprisoned leader of the party.
The event continued at Natherpetua Station Bazar, where Dr. Rahman reaffirmed his commitment to upholding justice and the struggle against oppression.
