Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam on Saturday said the politicians exerted their evil influence during the tenure of the Awami League government.
“The police force was compelled to commit offences in the last 15 years. We regret and feel deeply ashamed for the misdeeds,” he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting at the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) headquarters conference room.
“A commission is working to reform the police force and it will make recommendations to the government for the purpose,” he said.
