General Secretary of July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, Sarjis Alam, has accused former prime minister Sheikh Hasina of being a "pathological killer."
"If Hasina were not a pathological killer, she wouldn’t have committed 2,000 murders. If she had any sympathy for human life, she wouldn’t have taken so many lives," Sarjis said during an event at the PTI Auditorium in Chattogram on Saturday.
The programme, organised by the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, aimed to provide financial support to families of those killed in the July uprising in Chattogram division.
Sarjis also demanded the execution of Sheikh Hasina, saying, "The killers are returning, rewriting history, and we are ready to take to the streets once again to thwart any conspiracy and bring them to justice, even at the cost of our lives."
He further added, "Just as we were ready to sacrifice our lives before 5 August, we are now prepared to ensure the trial of the murderers and defeat all conspiracies."
During the event, cheques of Tk5 lakh were distributed to each of the 105 martyr families in Chattogram division. Many family members broke down in tears as Sarjis consoled them during the event.
Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi, co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, attended the programme, among others.
