UN Peacekeepers are needed in India, not Bangladesh: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that Delhi has failed to ensure the security of the Bangladesh High Commission.

“A smear campaign against Bangladesh is ongoing under the patronage of India. Peacekeepers are needed in India, not in Bangladesh. India has failed to ensure the security of the Bangladesh High Commission,” said Rizvi

He made these remarks at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Tuesday.

The BNP Senior Joint Secretary General stated “India is being ruled by backward-minded individuals. India's ruling class is pandering to communalism. Even student-people uprising is being maligned by the media there.”

“A smear campaign against Bangladesh is being carried out under Indian state sponsorship. India wants to tread the path of aggression instead of considering the will of the people. Efforts are being made to create unrest in Bangladesh with the direct support of the BJP. Our people will rise to protect the country's independence and sovereignty,” added Rizvi.

He also said, "Those who oppress minorities in their own country have no right to speak about Bangladesh. There is no disunity in Bangladesh; Delhi is trying to create it.”

Rizvi also noted that the people of Bangladesh would not accept division among themselves India’s far-reaching attempts at aggression would never succeed."
