The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has changed the names of three more medical colleges, including Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College in Gopalganj.
The Health Education Department has issued a notification in this regard. Secretary of the Medical Education-1 Branch of the Health Education and Family Welfare Department, Dr Md. Sarwar Bari, signed the notification.
The notification states that the order issued will be effective immediately.
The government medical colleges whose names have been changed are Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College in Gopalganj, Bangabandhu Medical College in Sunamganj and Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Habiganj. These medical colleges have been named after their own districts.
Earlier, on October 30, the ministry issued a notification changing the names of six medical colleges. A total of 9 medical colleges have been renamed.
