Students of Titumir College have announced plans to block roads and railway tracks in Mohakhali tomorrow (Wednesday) if their demand for a commission to convert the college into a university is not addressed by today. They have referred to their planned protest as the "Barasat Barricade to Mohakhali."
Motiur Rahman Joy, a coordinator of the movement, spoke to the media during a sit-in at the main gate of the college on Tuesday around 12:15 PM. He stated that government officials, including the education advisor, are scheduled to meet with their delegation today to discuss their demands. However, if no concrete assurance is given by the end of the meeting, the students will block both roads and railways starting at 11 AM on Wednesday.
Following the briefing, the students resumed their protests.
This comes after a similar protest on Monday, when Titumir College students briefly occupied the Mohakhali railway tracks around 11 AM, halting both road and rail traffic. The protest disrupted rail communication across the country, highlighting the intensity of the students' frustration with the delay in addressing their demands.
