Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, has called for the national parliamentary elections to be held within a "reasonable timeframe." Parwar made the demand, emphasizing the need for timely elections in line with democratic principles, although he did not specify an exact date for the polls. His statement comes amid growing discussions about the election schedule and the political climate in the country.
“Our demand is for a reasonable timeframe for the election,” he said.
The Jamaat leader made the statement on Friday morning while responding to questions from journalists following the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Kushtia district branch (Rukan) conference, which took place at the Abdul Wahid Hall Room of Haji Shariat Ullah Orphanage on the Kushtia-Rajbari Highway.
He also stated that once the election schedule is announced, Jamaat-e-Islami will release its election manifesto.
The conference was presided over by Professor Abul Hashem, Ameer of Kushtia district Jamaat, and moderated by Suja Uddin Joarder, Secretary of the Kushtia District Jamaat.
