Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad, joint member secretary of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, has called for an end to the "business of extortion, usurpation, and harassment through false cases under a political umbrella."
He stated that if state institutions continue to operate as they have in the past—lacking sincerity in serving citizens and failing to solve problems—it will be impossible to build a new Bangladesh.
Fuaad made these remarks during a public meeting in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, on Thursday (November 7). According to a press release, the AB Party organized the rally at Ukhia Kotbazar in the upazila.
Fuaad emphasized that the July-August mass revolution calls for change and reform. He noted that the politics of individualism and lineage have collapsed through mass upheaval. Ensuring citizens' rights and services should be at the core of the new political agenda.
Jahangir Kashem, Central Joint Convenor of the AB Party, stated that the AB Party is working to establish a developed welfare state based on human dignity and social justice.
During the meeting, speakers raised concerns about the ongoing influx of drugs, including Yaba and Phencidil, through the various borders of Cox's Bazar, which have not been stopped despite efforts.
AB Party Assistant Member Secretary, Journalist Shamsul Haque Sharek, presided over the event, while Ukhia Upazila Member Secretary Jahedul Karim conducted the rally. Speakers included Cox's Bazar District Nezam Islam Party Propaganda Secretary Maulana Abul Manjur, Cox's Bazar District Imam Muazzin Parishad President Maulana Shafiul Alam, lawyers Sunny Abdul Haque and Abdullah Al Mamun, and Bangladesh Salt Farmers Kalyan Samiti President Shahabuddin. Ukhia Upazila Convener Syed Hossain Chowdhury, Joint Convenor Maulana Abdul Hakim Khan, Bakhtiar Ahmad, and Jahangir Alam also delivered speeches.
