The interim government on Wednesday has banned Chhatra League, the student wing of Bangladesh Awami League, for their involvement in the killings and destructive and terrorist activities, both directly and through incitement, reports Dhaka Tribune.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry on Wednesday, the decision will be implemented under Clause 18(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009.
According to the notification, Chhatra League will be recognized as a terrorist organization from now.
