The ministry of foreign affairs has appointed eminent journalist Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey as the ambassador in the rank of senior secretary.
The information was revealed on Monday through a government circular.
According to the circular, Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey is appointed as Ambassador in a foreign Bangladesh mission at the rank of Senior Secretary for a period of three years based on a contract, effective from the date of joining, on the condition that he relinquishes any employment relationship with any other profession, business, or governmental, semi-governmental, or private institution/organization.
His job is assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this purpose.
Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey is also in charge of editorial responsibilities of online news portal justnewsbd.com in New York and served as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Headquarters and the White House. At the press briefing of the United Nations and the United States State Department, he raised the issue of Bangladesh and asked various questions. Before this, he was forced to leave the country in 2015 due to his courageous role in journalism, falling under the wrath of the Awami League government.
Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey was Khaleda Zia's Deputy Press Secretary during the second term of BNP government.
