The Interim Government's Advisory Council has approved the list of public holidays for next year (2025). Hence, next year's holy Eid-ul-Azha will be six days and Eid-ul-Fitr will be a five-day public holiday. Apart from this, the Durga Puja holiday has been made for two days.
Among them, two Eids are a day off. And the rest of the days before and after Eid will be holidays by executive order. Vijay Dashami is a general holiday on the occasion of Autumnal Durga Puja. Before that there will be holiday on Navami day by executive order.
The advisory council meeting was held under the chairmanship of chief adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus at chief adviser’s office in Tejgaon on Thursday.
Currently Eid holiday is of three days. But, in some years, it was extended by executive order. Apart from this, the current government extended the holiday by one day on the occasion of Puja this year.
In such a situation, the Ministry of Public Administration proposes to extend the leave. It was approved by the Advisory Council.
