She said it is not an important matter to be elected a lawmaker directly through election or elected to a reserved seat. Development works always depend on the person.
Farida Yasmin made the remarks while exchanging views with the journalists after taking oath as parliamentarian on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, 50 lawmakers elected to reserved women's seats in parliament took oath.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at the oath chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The newly-elected MPs later signed the oath book.
