AFM Khalid Hossain, the Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government, has stated that those involved in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif will not be spared.
He made this statement while speaking to journalists after visiting Saiful Islam's grave in Lohagara, Chattogram, this Friday morning.
“Killers of Saiful Islam Alif will not be spared. Exemplary punishment will be ensured after detecting the criminals,” said the Religious Affairs Adviser.
He also feels that a group is desperate to destabilize the government. He urges everyone to remain vigilant and make sure that internal harmony and peace and order are not destroyed in any way.
Also present at the time was Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Later, the two advisers met with Saiful Islam's family members and handed over a cheque to aid them financially.
Earlier, on Tuesday, supporters of Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson for the Sammilita Sanatani Jagaran Jote, staged a protest at the court premises after his bail plea was denied. A clash erupted during the protest, during which lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was killed.
