Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman categorically said drastic action will be taken against those who will be found involved in hiking the price of essentials during the holy month of Ramadan, reports BSS.
"We are adamant to take disciplinary action against the greedy and unscrupulous businessmen found to be guilty in creating any unstable situation in markets," he said while talking to the newsmen on Friday.
He also said there is no crisis of dollar as the Bangladesh Bank has adopted necessary steps in this regard. "We are very much hopeful about reaching the dollar rate to a satisfactory level within a shortest possible time," he added.
Salman said if the dishonest traders hike the price of commodities during the month of Ramadan they will be brought to book.
He also told the journalists that the Food Minister will call all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to Dhaka within the next few days to give direction in this regard.
