Law Minister Anisul Huq on Friday said the government has no role in filing cases against Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus, reports Daily Sun.
“The National Board of Revenue (NBR) and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), which is an independent organisation, filed the cases against Dr Yunus. Here, the government has no role,” he told reporters at Akhaura railway station in Brahmanbaria.
In another context, the minister said there is democracy in the country and everyone witnessed the spontaneous participation of the people in the 12th general election.
“The people are focused on the development work of the government. The BNP talks about movement and let them try to wage movement,” he added.
