BNP will hold protest rallies in all cities and districts including the capital Dhaka on Friday protesting a lower court verdict against party acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman in a graft case.
Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme at an emergency press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan central office on Thursday.
He also slammed the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque and his associates at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) area of Dhaka University Wednesday.
On Wednesday, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was sentenced to nine years imprisonment and his wife Zubaida Rahman was handed a three-year jail term in a corruption case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
