BNP calls emergency press conference

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has called an emergency press conference to address the verdict of a court against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will brief the media at 12:30 pm today (Thursday) at the party’s Naya Paltan central office.

Tarique Rahman was sentenced to nine years imprisonment and Zubaida Rahman was handed a three-year jail term in a corruption case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday.
