Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said from now on people can apply for a driving license at home starting tomorrow (Wednesday).
He said this while briefing journalists after a meeting of the National Road Safety Council at BRTA Bhaban in the capital’s Banani.
A driving license applicant will have to come to the BRTA office once for a driving test, said the minister.
Obaidul Quader also said his ministry has taken a project for road safety with the financial assistance of the World Bank.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, transport leader lawmaker Shahjahan Khan, DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder, BRTC Chairman Tazul Islam, IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, Roads and Highways Department Chief Engineer AKM Manir Hossain, among others, were present in the meeting.
