Government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices will go for new timings from 9 am to 4 pm from Tuesday (November (15) as per the decision taken in the cabinet meeting on October 31.
On the other hand, the banks will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm while the banking transactions would continue till 3:30 pm.
On November 1, Public Administration Minister issued a notification fixing the new schedule to utilize daylight to save electricity amid the fuel oil and gas crisis.
The new schedule will remain in effect until the issuance of the next order.
As per the decision, private offices, banks and insurance offices and courts will prepare their respective schedules.
Earlier in August, the government decided to change office hours to cope with the increasing demand for electricity.
