Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has claimed that there is no dollar crisis in the country.
He said the government has taken additional cautionary measures to open Letters of Credit (LCs) in export and import to stop money laundering.
The foreign minister came up with the observation while addressing a prize-giving ceremony of the BUET Inter-University Football Tournament on Tuesday.
In response to a question from the journalists about the fuel problem and its solution, the foreign minister said, “We are not too worried about fuel oil. Because, we have already discussed with Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar and some other countries about fuel oil. All of these countries have agreed to supply Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) to us.”
He also said in the previous time, Bangladesh had a few source countries. The current government is working on it.
“Now we have many source countries. That’s why we don’t worry about fuel oil. Even China has willingly said to supply gas to us if we face a crisis,” he added.
