Man held with 5 gold bars in Jhenaidah

Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man at Moheshpur in Jhenaidah for carrying five gold bars that he intended to smuggle those out.

The arrestee is identified as Sumon Mandal, 23, son of Hamidul Mandal.

He hailed from Kazir Ber Uttarpara at Moheshpur upazila under the district.

Md Saiful Islam, assistant director of 58- BGB, said the youth was arrested from Gurdah Bazar near Shyamkur Border Observation Post (BOP) on Sunday evening.

Sumon Mandal was handed over to Moheshpur Police Station through appropriate legal proceedings.
