Shahdab Akbar wins in Faridpur-2 by-election

Shahdab Akbar wins in Faridpur-2 by-election

Awami League (AL) candidate Shahdab Akbar Labu Chowdhury won in by-election at Faridpur-2 constituency.

Shadab, the youngest son of Late AL leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, got 68,814 votes, while his close competitor advocate Jainul Abedin Bakul Miah of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan got 14,876 votes.   

The number of total voters in this constituency is 318, 472.

District election officer Md Habibur Rahman said the percentage of casting vote in the election was 25-26%.

The seat of Faridpur-2 constituency became vacant as its MP Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury died on September 11 and new MP has been elected through this by-election.
