A Sharjah-bound passenger with foreign currency worth Tk 73 lakh was held by Customs intelligence at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Saturday, reports Daily Sun.
A team of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Regional Office, Chattogram Airport with the help of NSI seized 2,51,790 Dirhams (Tk. 73,15,179) from a Sharjah-bound passenger at 6:30 am Saturday.
The man kept the foreign currency sewing into his shoulder bag.
The name of the passenger is Mohammad Ali, hailed from Chadaha, Afzalnagar, Satkania, of Chattogram. He was the passenger of Flight Air Arabia, G9-527. Six mobile phone sets are also recovered from him.
It has been found that the smuggler made a total of six international trips in 2022.
