The leaders of Bangladesh Awami League on Thursday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders marking the Jail Killing Day.
Awami League leaders placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Dhaka City North and South Awami League, Awami Jubo League, Chhatra League, Mohila Awami League, Dhaka district Awami League, Jatiya Sramik League, Krishak League, Jubo Mohila League and Swechchasebok League, as well as other socio-cultural organisations also paid homage to Bangabandhu and four national leaders by placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation on the occasion.
The leaders of the party demanded the punishment of the killers of the four national leaders bringing them back from abroad.
Marking the day, Awami League kept the national, party flags and black flag at half-mast at the party's Bangabandhu Bhaban and Awami League office.
Meanwhile, Awami League, its associate bodies and various organisations paid rich tributes to four national leaders by placing wreaths at the Banani graveyard.

After paying tribute, a prayer was held seeking the salvation of Bangabandhu, his family members and four national leaders.
Meanwhile, the day is being observed in Rajshahi, the birthplace of Shaheed AHM Qamruzzaman.
Rajshahi Awami League paid their tribute to Bangabandhu and four leaders by placing wreaths and various programmes.
