Govt to procure rice at Tk 42, paddy at Tk 28

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said the government would procure per kg rice at Tk 42 and per kg paddy at Tk 28 in the upcoming Aman season.

The government would procure 5 lakh tonnes of rice and 3 lakh tonnes of paddy in the season, he added.   

He revealed the information after the meeting at his ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.

The agriculture minister, commerce minister, health minister, and state minister for disaster management and relief were present.
