Three important bills were placed in the Parliament on Monday, reports UNB.
These bills are -- the Development Board Laws (Repeal) Bill 2022, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Bill 2022, and The Government Primary School Teacher Welfare Trust Bill, 2022.
The Development Board Laws (Repeal) Bill 2022: Law Minister Anisul Huq placed the Bill in the House and it was sent to the concerned Parliamentary Standing Committee for further examination.
The Committee was asked to submit its report within 60 days.
The proposed law will replace the law of the military regime as the court declared this illegal.
As per the Bill, Khulna Division Development Board Ordinance, 1976 (Ordinance No. LXXV of 1976), Rajshahi Division Development Board Ordinance, 1976 (Ordinance No. LXXX of 1976), Dhaka Division Development Board Ordinance, 1976 (Ordinance No. LXXXI of 1976), Chittagong Division Development Board Ordinance, 1976 (Ordinance No. LXXXIX of 1976), Chittagong District Development Board Ordinance, 1982 (Ordinance No. XLVI of 1982) and Comilla, Noakhali and Sylhet Districts Development Board Ordinance, 1982 (Ordinance No. XLVII of 1982) and Chittagong Division Development Board Ordinance, 1976 will be repealed.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Bill 2022 was placed in Parliament incorporating punishment for involvement in any irregularities in any PSC examination.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain placed the Bill in the House and it was sent to the respective Parliamentary Standing Committee for further examination. The Committee was asked to submit its report within 60 days.
The maximum punishment for involvement in leaking the question paper of any PSC examination will be 10 years in jail or a financial penalty or both, according to a draft law.
The Government Primary School Teacher Welfare Trust Bill, 2022 was also placed in Parliament aiming to bear the expense of the education of minor children of the teacher if he/she dies during service.
Primary and Mass Education State Minister M Zakir Hossain placed the Bill and it was sent to the respective scrutiny committee for further examination.
The Committee was asked to submit its report within two months.
