Bangladesh Navy has completed its preparation to face the post-cyclone Sitrang situation in the coastal areas.
For emergency rescue, relief and treatment service, the Navy has already completed all necessary preparations to deploy 17 ships, 2 maritime patrol aircraft, and 2 helicopters in Chattagram, Khulna, and Mongla, said a media statement on Monday.
The Navy medical team will provide all necessary life-saving medicines, saline, and other materials during the post-cyclone period, it added.
At least thirteen trawlers capsized in the Bay of Bengal off Saint Martin's island in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Monday, as the sea is very rough due to the inclement weather triggered by Cyclone Sitrang.
Cyclone Sitrang will lash in land Monday evening (October 24) and its centre will hit around 6 am Tuesday.
