Malaysia prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that no country can achieve development and stability if it is constantly plagued by racial and religious conflicts. He emphasised that sustained harmony is essential for national progress and that persistent divisions would hinder growth and stability, reports the Star.
He warned that ongoing racial and religious tensions could prevent the country from moving forward. Without unity, he stressed, economic growth and social cohesion would remain elusive, ultimately weakening national resilience.
Anwar also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to institutional reforms. This includes amending the Federal Constitution to impose a 10-year term limit for the Prime Minister, a move aimed at strengthening democratic governance and ensuring a more accountable leadership structure.
